IT IS AN HONOR TO HAVE YOU IN THE STORE (and yes, I am working to humanely find another roosting spot for the pigeon couples that currently spend their nights directly above the entrance doors and west sidewalk ramp) AND WHEN SPRING FINALLY RETURNS (60 ON THURSDAY SAYS THE NWS) GET READY FOR THE SMELL OF SMOKE COMING OFF OF THE GRILL, AND SOME FREE LUNCH AND DRY REFRESHMENTS BEFORE OR AFTER YOU SHOP. AT LEAST A COUPLE TIMES A MONTH ALL SUMMER LONG SO WE CAN SHOW OUR APPRECIATION AND PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BETTER GET TO KNOW THE COMMUNITY THAT SUPPORTS OUR STORE. I REALLY BELIEVE IN THE AGORISM CONCEPT AND IN TODAY'S SOCIETY, ANY ECONIMIC ACTIVITY YOU CAN KEEP WITHIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY IS A GREAT THING! OK IM CHOKING UP, GOTTA GO. 03/01/26 - My apologies as I am still trying to work out the online store inventory sync so shop.grandresale.com can go live. Sometimes in life you have to deal with people where it seems as if they do everything in their power to make things more difficult than they need to be, and this is one of those times. But I won't quit until we have the buy online, pick up in store option available and up and running. Thank you for your patience. (feel like I've said that before...)
NOTICE TO ALL CONSIGNORS - Next time you stop in to get paid we have an updated agreement for you to sign. This new agreement clarifies what previously may have been somewhat confusing surrounding item fees. From this point forward, we are changing the split for any items priced under $100 to the industry standard 60% Store, 40% Consignor, and eliminating all item fees. Keep in mind we may still assess a cleaning fee depending on how much time it takes to clean something before it goes up for sale. Also keep in mind that we have a professional extraction machine for furniture, and will gladly freshen up an older couch, loveseat, or armchair for less than the truck and van cleaners, so don't hesitate to bring a piece in just because it has some staining or the like.
Additionaly, back to the updated agreement, for items priced above $100, the split will be 60% Consignor, 40% Store. Lastly, the update provides more details regarding the markdown schedule, which has been slightly adjusted as well.
Most will not notice any significant changes, but those of you whom bring in those higher dollar items are going to see much better returns with these changes.
The updated agreement is now available online at grandresale.com/forms. Click on the "Consignor Agreement" and it should take you to the fillable .pdf file. I will be testing the link over the next couple of days to ensure the backends are working correctly. Most importantly.....THANK YOU FOR CONSIGNING WITH US! THIS IS SUCH A GREAT THING FOR THE COMMUNITY AND WE COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU GUYS! SO AGAIN, THANK YOU.
1/24/26 - We are STILL currently working on the online store. Our apologies for the delays as a couple of internal communication hiccups have occurred this month, and they are being addressed with maximum effort. When up and running, shop.grandresale.com will be the place to purchase many (but not all) items for sale in the store online. Beginning sometime in February, the majority of items hitting the physical sales floor will also be available for purchase at shop.grandresale.com. Customers will have two ways to get their orders :
1. BOLPIS (buy online, pickup in-store)
2. Multiple shipping options to anywhere in the continental US for small and medium sized items.
* If desired, large and oversized items will be available for next day delivery in and around the Cedar Rapids Metro for a fair and reasonable charge depending on the level of care needed to safely transport the item and how far it needs to go.
1/16/26 - We are STILL working on making all of our forms available for easy download and printing from the forms page at grandresale.com/forms. Item Intake Form is good to go.....Consignor Agreement Contract to follow. Our apologies for the continued delay. The only assurance this author can offer is when everything is finally working, the forms will be straightforward, professional, and easy to fill in whether with a pen or electronically.
